Snyder Cut Fans Have Something Big Planned For New York Comic Con
A dedicated group of Snyder supporters have plans to raise awareness during New York Comic-Con in October, with members of the organization sharing their goals exclusively with CinemaBlend. After raising $6,246 (against a stated goal of $6,000) on a GoFundMe page, the @RTSnyderCut group will be on the ground in Manhattan to continue trying to convince Warner Bros. to release the “Snyder Cut” and let fans see the version of Justice League they believe they are owed.
Half of the money raised by the GoFundMe campaign reportedly goes directly to the charity American Foundation of Suicide Prevention. The group claims to have donated close to $109,000 to the organization, thanks to donations made by concerned DC fans who say they are fighting for creative freedom and integrity.
At New York Comic-Con, the @RTSnyderCut crew plans to hand out flyers, pamphlets, buttons, T-shirts and more to continue to raise awareness for the fan-demand for the release of the “Snyder Cut” of Justice League. In fact, if you are in Manhattan on Saturday, October 5, the group has told people to look for a custom-designed digital billboard that will be up on 42nd Street in the heart of Midtown that will flash roughly 30 times, playing for 15 seconds each hour.
Snyder Cut supporter “Leonidas”, found on social media at @Signs2323, told us:
I do not know what the future holds, except we stand together as brothers and sisters, and march on with our fight for artistic freedom, and quest for Justice. Our hearts and minds are united, and our resolve is unwavering. We stand with Zack and Deborah Snyder.
And they stand in several different ways. The group recently concluded a letter-writing campaign aimed at newly-hired Warner Bros. Chairperson and CEO Ann Sarnoff.
The group also made headlines when it purchased billboards and signage around Southern California during San Diego Comic-Con 2019 lobbying for the release of Zack Snyder’s “Snyder Cut” of Justice League.
No one knows if these grassroots marketing efforts are having any effect on Warner Bros. and its decision to potentially release a “Snyder Cut” of Justice League. The director, himself, has confirmed the existence of a cut (several of them, in fact), and has put the onus on WB to decide to release it, if they ever do.
