Danny Elfman On Board to Compose Justice League Score

DC’s Justice League will now be receiving its score from Danny Elfman, one of the superhero genre’s most experienced and beloved composers. The film is set to be the second DC film Warner Bros. is releasing this year, which coming off of the overwhelming success of Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman, has the kind of momentum that few other superhero films do. And that’s a stark contrast to how many had viewed the DCEU films near the end of last year, coming off of the disappointing reactions to both Batman V Supermanand Suicide Squad.
Following the recent departure of Zack Snyder, Joss Whedon has signed up to oversee the completion of the film in Snyder’s place. And following the start of reshoots on Justice League earlier this week, it looks like Whedon has brought one of his more recent and notable collaborators to help him truly finalize and capture the creative vision and tone of Justice League in the coming months.
THR is reporting that Elfman has officially signed on to compose the score for Justice League. This marks Elfman’s eighth time working in the superhero genre, after composing music for Tim Burton’s Batmanand Batman Returns, 2o03’s Hulk, Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2, Hellboy 2: The Golden Army, and even Whedon’s last film, Avengers: Age of Ultron. He is a frequent collaborator to Tim Burton and Sam Raimi, and is one of the more celebrated film composers of his generation.
